To provide support for the community and citizens of Wilson County through the direction of Wilson County Emergency Management Agency by delivering a high level of technical expertise through Amateur Radio and related technology.

Steps to Amateur Radio (HAM) License

First obtain a FRN number from the FCC

  1. Go to the Commission’s Registration System (CORES) website.

  2. Create a username and password and activate your account with an email verification.

  3. Log in to CORES and select “Register New FRN” if you do not have one.

  4. Choose whether you are registering as an entity or as an individual and fill out the required information.

  5. Your FRN will be available to you immediately after registering online.

Second study for the exam.

Finally on test day

Find a test site here. Bring a government issued photo I.D. your FCC issued FRN number and $15 fee to the test site.
